The Artist behind the Hair

With over 40 years of experience, Katarina is a hair designer specializing in film and television.

Originally trained and licensed in Czechoslovakia, she brought her expertise to Canada in the early 1980s, quickly making her mark in the industry. Starting with CBC and television productions, then moving into working with NABET700, she recognized a crucial gap: the need for fully licensed hairstylists on set.

Katarina has spent decades perfecting her craft, adapting to the ever-changing landscape of film hairstyling. A proud IATSE873 member since 2020, she took a brief leave of absence in 2018 to care for an elderly family member—not to retire, but to continue learning and evolving.

Now back on set, she brings both fresh insight and decades of experience, balancing her work in film and television with mentoring the next generation of hairstylists.
